Will 19" rims fit on my C280 (W202)??
G'day
I'm looking at replacing my 17" Monoblocks with something bigger and am hoping that I can fit some 19" in their place. The dealers here (in Canberra, OZ) are clueless and are of no help whatsoever!!
So, can I fit some 19" rims on my 1995 C280 (W202)? Any mods necessary?
I've seen 18x8.5 on a similar car but would like to go bigger (just to completely fill out the guard).
FYI: I've got that AMG suspension on the car already so it's sitting pretty low.
Cheers
George

"just to completely fill out the guard" WHat does this mean?
If you're sitting pretty low, rubbing might be an issue. If you have the correct offset and correct tire size, there shouldn't be any problems. I suggest you going 19x8" in the front and 19x9" in the rear. The rubbing and modifications will be necessary if you do not get the correct offset. For my car, I put 19x8.5F and 19x9.5"R w/ H&R springs #1 pad F, Bilsteinsport shocks, and i've had a pretty difficult time getting my set up to run w/o rubbing. I can't fit 265's in the rear due to the height and offset.

A buddy of mine is selling a set of 19 x 8.5, all 4 the same. They are sitting on an A4 and look good but the Benz has that recessed rear wheel thing going on. To compensate for two of them not being a 19 x 9.5 is it possible to run wheel spacers in the rear to get the wheels flush with the body?

well...
don't U think about once your tires lost their grip, they will be all of a sudden!!!! i think it's near impossible to handle it DUE TO the low aspect ratio. say, 2?5/"35"/19...
too wide tires may easily cause "aquaplaining"
(spell correctly??) coz' a C280 is not really a car with "big MASS".
just my $0.02

not sure if i'll be able to make it on the 26th. I know that I'm free that day but the drive is toooooooooo long. My waranty's runniing up soon too. Don't worry though, like 2 weeks after that I'm moving bac north for good.
Mic, I'm runniing Lowenhart br5's right now, 19x8.5 F 19x9.5R 235/35/19R, 245/35/19R (yes, it's a bit stretched but any wider than that and i'll be rubbing my gas line.)
