C230 Coupe Kompressor
Rattle and Wheels
1. I read where someone was experiencing a "rattle" similar to one I am experiencing on my 02 C230 Coupe Kompressor. When I press the accelerator I hear a "rattle" in the engine area. The same happens when I let off the accelerator. It appears to happen at the exact RPMs when accelerating or decelerating. It happens when sitting still and when driving.
Any suggestions?
2. Also, I have a two month old set of 16 inch CX MB 17 rims (5 lug 112 mm) for sale. Like new and $200 will take them. They are in Kingsport, TN so shipping would need to be discussed. If you can pick them up in Kingsport, TN you can have them for $180.00. Wife wants them out of the garage. What can I say?!

Need a little more information...
If the rattle is when the supercharger clutch engages and goes away above approx 1500-2000 rpms and then comes back below 1500-2000 RPMs and then stops when the supercharger clutch disengages, then you have a suoercharger coupler going bad.
This is the polymer piece that connects the external belt pully and shaft to the driven gear inside the supercharger.
Unfortunately, MB doesn't consider the supercharger (a standard Eaton M-45) a serviceable part and will only sell you the whole supercharger. If you want to fix this it is relatively easy, but you will have to use after market parts or parts from E-Bay...
