Question what about tire pressure?

I was thinking:
if i change from my stock 195-65/16 to 225-45/17, can i still pump them up to the original pressure settings for the stock wheels? (2.4front-2.2back) or do i have to modify that?

That's pretty high and may cause inner wear of the tires. You I wouldn't go more than 2 or 3 pounds over.

inside the c36's fuel tank cover suggests 41 rear if u have heavy load...and i think 32 or something for light load...so... i keep it around 36 to 38...

i had a few bad incidents with blown 17" tires on potholes where i do believe the pressure is too low (as dealer had set it at 32 psi). even tho i got all the money back from the cities, i now keep it a little higher just for better impact protection. on the volvo...the camber is around -0.5 and -1.0...the insides do wear out just a tad faster, not too bad, considering it is fwd...but on the c36...the camber is even more than that...and the wear is still fairly even

Wouldn't higher tire pressure cause blowouts instead of lower tire pressure?

yes. i was thinking the same thing.
you see, when i used to ride the bicycle, i had to deflate the wheels so that if i curbed a border of the street, they wouldnt blow. if the pressure is higher it is easier to blow the wheels. right?

too high to a certain point. yes. anything over 40 is like popping a full water baloon...and ur bike tire

too low is not good either....the edge of the pothole will press the tire all the way to the rim and either cut or break it...

1999 C230 Kompressor Sport
My car was delivered with Pirelli P6000 Sports which were toast after 23,000 miles. They were pretty noisy, too. Michelins were slighty quieter but lasted a whopping 11,000 miles. I just replaced them yesterday with Continental ContiTouringContacts. They're much more quiet and handling seems to be the best of the three even though it's a touring tire rather than sport.

I asked the tire dealer about increasing pressure to reduce wear at the expense of a little added ride harsness. He specifically recommended against having the same pressure all around. He suggested maintaining a similar-to-stock F/R pressure bias, but he ran them up from the stock 26F/32R to 29F/34R and the car feels better than ever.
