It sucks when you live in a highly trafficated driving environment. The mileage will suffer. I am constantly accelerating and braking which puts my drive systems under constant pressure.
The top speed for me in my V-6 is about 137 mph! My father in his S500 (w140) and I constantly race each other at 100+ mph. Children, don't do this at home. (Joking) "Do it" if it's safe and legal. I use 95 octane in my car. Too bad in California, drivers have only 91 octane as their premium gas. I don't know about other countries or states, but octane can have an affect on the engine's gas mileage and top speed.

I use Sunoco 93 - I get about 250 - 300 before filling up. I do a lot of city driving, not so much highway so i'm zipping through the streets with high revs and downshifting

I put CAM2 or Rocket fuel once in a while... I like to think it clears the engine's throat. (J/P) I get around 275-300mpg. Sucks because there's alot of traffic here in NY during the day. But at night... All I can say is "THE FREAKS COME OUT AT NIGHT". Long Island highways are dead at night. Fastest I've gone in my car was 130mph racing a RICED OUT Acura Integra. And it's true the ricey stickers on the Acura had to given the it a good 15-20 horse power. But, all good things must come to an end cause I schooled his *** really badly.

I saw 136 mph once on a rural stretch of Interstate 10 in the Florida panhandle.
Typical commuting on I-95 here is a "go-with-the-flow" 70 mph. My normal fuel consumption is 20 mpg combined city/highway. Highway/long trip mileage is 30 mpg.

anybody know how an "octane booster" works?
Because on powerchip, when choosing a chip to look at, it askes for what kind of fuel do u use, and it says 91 octane with "Octane booster"
how exactly does that work?

It's an additive that makes the gas explode only at a certain (higher) temperature. If the gas exploded at a lower temperature it would burn to early and your engine wouldn't be as efficient. That's why engines knock. Higher compression engines run hotter so that's why they use premium gasoline. If you put regular unleaded in the gas would explode before it hit the spark of the spark plug just because of the heat of the engine.
