"Peanut Butter" on dipstick & some burning oil

Hey everyone, I'm new. Good to be here as a proud new(ish) MB owner.

I picked up a '99 C280 with 173k on it. The owner mentioned that it would need a quart of oil every 1500 miles or so. He's been quite accurate with that figure, and I've put two quarts in over the last 3500 miles. I just put the second in this evening as the dash light lit up. I carry a spare at all times, so I pulled over and tanked it up quickly.

However, I noticed something worrisome on the dipstick. On the bottom nub of the disptick was a bit of tan-colored gunk. It had a light consistency (didn't seem like it was much heavier than the 0W-40 Mobil 1 that I'm running in it).

Any ideas on what this is and what, if anything, I should do about it?

Thanks!

Oil and water mixing. Blown HG. It will get worse- the car will suddenly start randomly overheating.

Hate to say it, but redo it now while it's still manageable before all the oil gets all over the cooling system.
