Need Electrical Help 2000 C230K
I just joined to help a young relative out with his car. It has been in the family but it was sitting for 5 months when we started checking it out (it was left to him by a deceased family member). The battery was dead and some fluids needed topping off. A new battery and fluids brought it to life, however. It drives and operates fine, except:
The BAS/ESP light is active (we tried running steering side to side several times and the light went out but has subsequently come on)
The power door locks do not work
Most interior lights do not work
The alarm doesn't work
The remote trunk unlatch does not work
There may be other items which don't work, but I am new to MB operation/maintenance.
Things that do work - horn, exterior lights, driver's seat adjustments, all windows, aftermarket stereo, climate control, mirror adjustment, gauges.
Further troubleshooting shows that there is a parasitic electrical draw even with all fuses out. The new battery goes from 12.8 volts to 12.5 volts within a few hours.
I am hoping that the collective knowledge here will point me in the right direction to help this person get a reliable car. Where to start?
