wheels

I have an c230k sport '98, i have not lowered my car, and i have original sport wheels from factory. I have 215/55/16 and the same for the rear, but if i install + 22mm trace spreading disks to the rear then i hear that my rear wheel is touching rear bumper from the inside??!! and als one, how u can drive with your cars with lowered springs + 17 wheels, its toooo hard i find! Its absolutely uncomforable to drive with it! i find that my car is hard like a stone......

Thanks a lot

I'm lowered with 18's and bilstein sport shocks and it's still very smooth. My dad is as picky as all get out but even he still thinks it's smooth.

how do u have a 98 c230 kompressor?

98 was the last year for the regular c230

99-00 was when they started supercharging it from the factory (kompressor)

its true

Oh je, i ordered my car at 21 of may, its where just 3 days befor my birthday, and i got my car at 17.08.1998 in Austria, 1100 Vienna, Wiesenthal & Co. I bought my car with 4 km, and they sold me c 230 kompressor with 193 PS. And i have a friend, he has an c230 kompressor also '98 (april).

Ok what about my wheels, is 215 + 22 = 237 for rear wheels to much?

Thx a lot

Lightbulb Wheels and Rubber!

To Juk79 and all others,

I have a 2000, C240 (w202) and I put 18x8.5 inch wheels all around on my car with 255/35-ZR18 (with Dunlop Sport 9000, but I recommend Bridgestone S-03). I even put wheel spacers on my car to increase the width of my car's stance! I can assure you that as a fact, that you will have no problems with your rear tires increased width.

Furthermore I lowered my car with a H&R cup kit suspension set, which lowered my car 2.0 inches in the front and 1.7 inches in the back. This suspension kit made my car handle better and increase the safety of how my car handle's at the limit.

As for my front tires though, they touch the body on the inside of the inner wheel well. But I must say that this only occurs on the hardest of bumps and holes on the road. But otherwise, everything else is alright. We all have different standards of smoothness though. But I will be honest to you, when I first put the 18 inch tires with the big rubber tires (255's), I felt that the car was smoother believe it or not!? I know that logic should be that my car is bumpy with increased rubber feel of the road. But somehow my car felt smoother with the bigger rubber tires. It was only when I put on the stiffer springs and dampers did I feel my car get to be extremely stone like. I have been told though that my car's structure may squeek and rattle in years to come since I put on the stiffer suspension which will effect the car! But it was the choice I made... I still have the original Bilstein springs and shocks that came with my car... but I like how my car handles!

Now only if I could get more power...hmmm what could I do to increase my car's 170 horsepower V-6?! :p

Exclamation hmmmm

I dont know how is it posible! in the past i had 205/55/16 and i bought me 22mm spacers disks - i had any probs., but know with my 215/55/16 rubber on the same wheel + 22mm spacers i have a problem with it! If its where just touching the body, but there are more problems, the wheel is rubing the Fastening of rear bumper (connection with a carbody), and know this fastening is so thin than i am now afraid that it can be broken!

Thx a lot
