Hey guys,
This is my first post let alone the first forum I ever join. I hope to learn a lot here about the world of one of the most recognized motor vehicle of all time.

The 95 c220 is my first foreign car I ever owned and I love it. I even named it lacreesha lol. The issue I have with it is this...the car takes forever to catch the second gear...its automatic . I start the car and hit reverse, that part is smooth. Now when I hit I put it on drive it kinda stalls I see the rpm revving and the mph meter stay at 5 mph. After "pushing" it , it catches the car and runs like a leopard in the Amazon jungle....plzzzzzzz!!! Someone help me...if u need more info let me know. I would like to know what r my first steps I should take to solve the enigma in this car..thnx in advance

Could you be more specific and literal? Do you mean the throttle is surging when you put it in drive? Do you have a check engine light? Have you tried it in manual mode? Your transmission lets you select individual gears. All of this will be helpful.

If you have a check engine light or if you have changed/unhooked the battery recently then the electronic throttle may be jumpy. Every time I have reset the ecu it will do that at low speed for a minute after I star her up for the first day.

Yes! Thnx...when I press on the gas the rpm revs up and the car moved slowly...sometimes I can to shift it to the numer 3 to catch a gear...the engine light doesn't come on either. When I put it in reverse it doesn't give me any issue. And I didn't know I can change it in mannual mode...do u think its cause of that...

Your shifter should look like this. the 1 2 3 4 represent the gears. To do 5th you just put it in D. Start the car in first and then shift around 3k rpm so you don't cause a fuss. see if it still bucks when you do that.

Yeah it does look something like that! I have my car right not suspended, cuz someone told me it could be the fluid, I have to flush the tranny oil. Put a new oil in at and replace the tranny filter...u think that can be the issue? If not ima go with what u told me

I don't think its the transmission at all. To me it sounds like the electronic throttle is being jumpy. This happens to me all the time at low speeds, like in a parking garage. The way I tend to solve it is I normally put it into manual mode and give it a boot full for a second and then its ok for the rest of the day.

by manual mode all I mean is by manual selecting the gears. Using the 1 2 3 4 on the shifter there. Just put it into 1, and then shift into 2, and then 3 etc etc depending on how fast you go.

ECU = Engine Control Unit, it's the computer that controls the engine in modern cars.

Hey matt! U were right! I did the tranny fluid and filter and its still does the same thing. Now, you told me that this only happens to you when ur car is going at a low speed. And after u "manual it" its fine the rest of the day. My car cannot stop at a red light or a stop sign cuz then it will stall again and the rpm revs up and I'm back again at 5 mph trying to cross a busy intersection. Does that happen to u and ur car. Or is it smooth sailing the whole day?

Ok that is completely different. The stalling part would have been useful info.

I'm sorry .... I don't know much about cars so my description about this is very novice.... And my gears don't look that that its D,4,3...that's it...what I'm trying to tell you is thta I press the gas, the rpm gage shoots up, the car barely moves. I DO go to 3 and it slooooowly moves up in speed...But! When I'm at a stop sigh or a light I have to do that over again....sometimes its ok, but most of the times its slow as hell...anything else! And thanks again
