Child Seat Anchors

Hi all. I have been thinking about looking for a C43, and I am wondering whether they have the built-in anchors for child seats. From my internet digging, it appears cars were not required to have them until the 2003 model-year, but perhaps MB put them in the C43 early? I doubt I could sell my wife on a car without them. Thanks in advance.

I know this doesn't answer your question, but the anchors are not inherently any safer than a properly installed seat with no anchors. The adavantage is in getting a proper installation easier than with the seatbelts. The newer child seats (especially Maxi Cosi) feature almost fool proof conventional installation.

Thanks. I hear you. But, that's an argument I'm not sure I could win with my wife. Even with the anchors (our current cars are an '07 CLS 550 and '10 Lexus RX350), she has taken our cars to the fire department to make sure they are in correctly. But, in her defense, the seat was initially installed at the fire department in the middle seat of the Lexus where there are no anchors, and it did work its way a little loose and jiggly over time.

My suggestion is to post your question (whether C43's have built-in anchors for child safety seats) to the W202 AMG forum so that you can get a faster feedback from AMG owners themselves.

Thanks for the response. Do you know if your C230 has them? I can't imagine MB would spec them for the C43 and not for the whole range of Cs.

My 2000 C230 has only 1 child seat anchor and is located at the center. I am not sure if the older models of C-Class has them too.
