Duo Valve Question

I'm going to clean or replace the duo valves that are part of the heat and A/C system. Currently from time to time hot air comes out of the side vents while cold comes from the center.

Once I remove the duo valve cover for cleaning, does anyone know if I will have to recharge the A/C system?

Thanks....

No. The valve regulates the flow of coolant through the heater core. It has nothing to do with the refrigerant cycle.

No. Coolant will flow unrestricted into the heater core negating the cooling effect from the evaporator. You would have to block the coolant lines and then the heater won't work.
