Right Rear Tire Well Weld Came Apart

hi guy!

i'm sorry for being away for a long time, been busy at work and all. anyway, my baby encountered a problem and i think it was very weird and would like to share to you what i experienced here and hopefully can get your insights on the effects and what my next step would be.

last year i already heard a faint but weird squeak and rattling sound coming the rear right side of my car. since it was faint i thought it was only the head rest. i tried to inspect the rear interior and found nothing wrong with them. then a few weeks later it went out no more rattling sound.

then it came back again this year this time it was louder than before. i tried looking for it again but found nothing inside the cabin. so decided to have my car raised to inspect it further, still nothing only thing i observed was the worn out bushings that needs replacement which i can do myself.

i was already considering having my shock absorbers replaced so i went over youtube to watch some instructional videos on how to go about it.

so when i was about to inspect the work that will be done should i decide to replace the shocks i was surprised to see a huge gaping space where the shock absorbers were mounted. the weld spot came off!

mind you, i never encountered any deep pothole that might have caused this.

you thoughts in these please. . .

That looks like damage caused by a car accident. The metal doesnt just look like the weld broke but like something smashed the rear axle.

maybe your right dude.

now for me to start the repair i would need to remove the gas tank before i could do some welding works on it.

can somebody point me to the direction in removing the gas tank for safety purposes as i might explode while undergoing the repair.

TIA!
