C280 PERFORMANCE MODS
C280 PERFORMANCE MODS
Let's create a list of possible Performance mods for a v6 c280. I really don't wanna do an engine swap, however I'm going to consider it. If you have a straight 6 please don't reply to make us upset the one's with the V's lol
So far I have a K&N air filter where I barely feel difference. I know about the exhuast cuts or changes but i'm not sure how it will result on the engine compression and if i'll get a service engine light on. So if you have experience or read somewhere, please post it up, and let's see if we can get this thread a sticky since everyone that owns a c280 wants more performance out of it. And no I don't want an W202 AMG lol

Well i've been toying with different ways to get more performance out of my m112 v6. One mod that I did was a custom intake where I had removed the stock air box assembly. I have about a 2 1/2 - 3 inch tube running off the MAF, that runs into the bumper with a cone filter on it that captures cold air as it passes through the mesh of the bumper. Other than this, all I have is magnaflow exhaust. For big gains you could add a super charger but It wouldn't be worth the money since its priced at about 10k.
The backpressure thing is not all the true.
The big thing if you do an exhaust mod is tune the car. So our first MOD is to find a way to tune the ECU.
As I am sure the above mentioned MAF cold air kit gets cold air I suspect it didnt do much in the way of add power.
Most often a stock air box is the best way for power. Im not a fan of KN air filters. I like ITG more so cause they are easier to clean and offer more air flow.
SO..
Getting back to the point find a way to tune the ECU and go from there.

Horsepower Increase from 194 - 213
Torque Increase from 195 - 212
Price is $ 495.00
ECU Tuning
Not really a big fan for ecu tuning, really not much gain, and most of them end up with blown off engines in 30-40k miles. I like the idea for the cold air intake and i've been thinking about it too, since i seen the big space when i took off my bumper. too bad our engines come with 18 valves instead of 24, that would def be hp right there... Other than that anyone ran a manual transmission from a different mercedes on a m112 engine?
