99 C230 Engine concern NEW OWNER HELP

I purchased a 99 C230K today's with 123k miles on it. The interior and exterior is in amazing condition. One of my concerns with the car is the wobble in the main crank pulley. Is that normal? (I believe it's the harmonic balancer)

Also when I test drove it, it ran fine. Now when I drove it home the Check Engine Light came on. I noticed a slight jerky hesitation during low speed city driving that's inconsistent. Like a misfire. Luckily this isn't my daily and intend on taking it to the dealer to check the code(s). Has anyone had this happen to them and know what caused it? I really hope it's just a bad plug, injector, coil, sensor etc...

Yes... I have had the wobble you are talking about, it did turn out to be the harmonic balancer and it cost (under extended warranty) the toyota dealership $5500.00 to replace my 4runner's engine. I got lucky when I purchased a certified used toyota 4runner.....good luck with your car....don't know where you live, but some states allow you to return a car if the seller failed to disclose the bad issues you are experiancing....and the PO had to have known about the wobble, there is no way to hid it....looks like they just cleared the codes and sold it instead of fixing it...just my two cents.....

Wow what a price tag. I was just curious because it was an obvious wobble. They aren't expensive and are fairly easy to replace anyways.

I think I've figured out what the miss and CEL is being caused by. One of the coils I believe went out. I left town and when I get back ill tear into it.

I'm still up for suggestions?

But if you replace one of the coils like you presume, do you think that will fix the wobble? I think something else is causing that.

The crank pulley wobble and the CEL are two seperate issues. I hope it's just being caused by the harmonic balancer going out. I read somewhere that there was recall on this particular concern. I need to stop by my local dealership and get the details and pull a service record on this vehicle. I plan on keeping this one for a while. It won't be my daily...
