C 180 AUTO 1996 W202

I have 1996 C 180, Automatic
I had alternator fixed just couple days ago. Battery had fully drained but appears to to charged and fine now. When I start the engine there are NO lights displayed on panel when the engine is working. As soon as I touch the brake pedal in order to change the gear from P to Drive, BAS light comes on and stays on. ABS light is separate and it is NOT ON. The brake lights (all 3 ) working fine.
What could be the problem? Brake light switch? or Battery? Manual says BAS could stay on if the volts fall below 10V. But when the alternator is ON the battery appears to be charging at 14 volts.
And yes... sometimes (small % of time), the brake pad wear light flickers.
Any suggestions?
