new c280 owner with some issues

i just got a 1994 c280, and i found early on the car has problems starting. Usually just give it some gas and a couple extra cranks and it is good to go. The fuel pump is new and i was wondering what else might be wrong (fuel filter/regulator etc). The car very rarely will die when in idle both in park and drive. Any advice would be appreciated

Try the cheap way first. Sea Foam it. Could be injectors or idle setting or filter....

Any codes? Service history? How many miles on it? Without some more info from you, it's tough to draw conclusions. Is the wiring harness original?

the car has 136,000 miles and to my knowledge the wiring harness is original. i did do a fuel injection clean on it with fuel treatment, it runs better most of the time. When the car is about to die the idle will "search" between 400 rpm and 800rpm.

I'd strongly suspect electrical which means replacing the harness. Have you checked for any codes?

Only one code and it is for the abs light. Has been on since i got the car. I have a feeling it has something to do with the oversized rims.

Check your crank position sensor!!!!!! Just replaced mine and it cured a bunch of your sounding issues. My lil one is a 96 c280. The old cps had a ohm reading of 1.028, the new one a reading of 1.046 ohm. They were both bosch sensors just one old 195,000 miles old. around 50 buck's from autohaus. Hope this helps.
