Once in a while, my C230 (1998) will lose acceleration power at lower speeds.
I have solved it by turning the engine off and restarting, but that's not a real fix.
If I am going quite slow, and step on the gas, there is no response, until the pedal is about half way down, and then it's a slow response.
My wife was following me into the city the other day, and it happened.
She was turning a corner from a stop and panicked a bit crossing the intersection while the light was about to change.
I am thinking the air pump or the MAF.
Any ideas out there?

there's actually a way of resetting the adaptive gas pedal system on the e-class. some claim that it works on the c-class also, might want to look into that.
