Question ? For the EXPERTS!

1. I need to replace the sunroof slider ONLY on my car. I have the part so what is the easiest way to install. I realize the headliner needs to be removed but is there a trick..like removing only one side etc.

2. My child safety switch is broken and causing the rear rear passenger window controls to illuminate intermitantly. Can i replace just that peice or do i need to buy the switch cluster?

3. Why is the clear coat on my car peeling like a bannana. i have called MBUSA and they told me there is no recall or known defect.

Thanks in advance for any help. this board has been a wealth of knowledge thus far!!!

yea one of my freinds dealership has a 95 c280, 120k miles i think. it's red and the clear coat has pealed really badly. kinda weird. i thought benz had good paint. but i'm guessing it's just the early c280's cuz i havent' heard of any others that have that prob.

My uncle once told me about a faulty ground problem on his boat that kept causing his paint to come off the hull (aluminum). He had it painted about a dozen times to no avail. The manufacturer finally took it back and gave him a new one. They got back in touch with him after they figured out what was causing the problem.

I don't think a ground problem would affect just your clearcoat and not your paint though (or if a similar effect is possible in cars). I think you're going to have to re-paint it.
