my tranny gasket gone?

Hi all,
i was leaking some kind of oil or fluid onto my driveway. I noticed that it wasn't the engine because i didn't see any oil on the plastic cover at the bottom, so I assumed it was close by to the front. Looking at the underneathe of the car, I noticed that this thing, which looked like the tranny pan or something to do with the tranny is leaking...my dad says it's probably the gasket for which the fluid passes thru is cracked due to age of the car. Here's a pic...what's u'r take on it? I'm going back to dealership to get my bushings done soon, so might as well tell them about this. I'm assuming the gasket for this is inexpensive job? Thanks all.

yep, it looks like the tranny gasket. although, i get the impression that it is very close tothe front axle, so it maybe a leak in the joints where the engine and tranny meet..

There is no gasket

between the engine and the gearbox where they join...it appears as though the front seal of your transmission is leaking. The seal itself is cheap- pulling the engine/gearbox to install it is not.

If you have the tranny out to reseal the front pump, do the rear main crankshaft seal at the same time.
