Dream garage

Okay, here's the deal. I just bought my first house and I close in the middle of October. All I wanted was a house with a garage and a backyard. It's got a really nice oversized 1.5 garage with room for tools, etc. Does anyone here have pics of their garage? I'm scrounging for ideas on how to set it up but all my friends here think a properly set up shop just needs a hooters calendar.
post some links/pics if you got them.

So far my only ideas are wire racks, peg board, painted floor, and maybe 220V outlets for my welder.

So, you live in Virginia do you... I may have found a new best friend

You could take some clues from the guy over at slk32.com:

His garage looks nice, but he doesn't have all that much stuff.

Congtats on the house. Sounds like the garage will have lots of room.

I agree, Check out that guy's garage in the link above. It
is really nice. You need the following:

Nice floor (painted or tiled) - this is KEY to a good garage.
Clean white walls and lots of light
Lots of storage (pegboards, baskets cabinets, shelves are good, so are Craftsman & Snap on tool boxes with wheels!)
Solid Workbenches that can support several hundred pounds
Lots of toys/tools
A nice jack and stands (if you don't go w/ the lift)
A retractible extension cord reel mounted overhead is also a great item.
Anything from the Griots Garage catalog.

I'm all about 12" by 12" black and white stick on tile. It looks classy and is very easy to clean up. Paint the walls white. Have two flourescent hanging trouble lights, one for front and one for rear. A gigantic red Snap On tool box full of tools. A CarPad to protect your new floor and keep it dry. Still thinking......

WOW

That guy has got one hell of a garage!! Gee, I was going to suggest shelves and a workbench

If your married, and your wife is like mine, you will need at least 15 sq yards for a shoe rack.

Congrats and good luck. Post some pics when done.

epoxy shield for the floor is a must. its a great investment because it saves you lots of time from cleaning up messes.

Whoa! The garage in those pictures look sweet! We just moved into our house less than a year ago, and our garage is plain concrete.

LOL

Time to get all of the tools organized!
