Engine doesn't turn by hand after new head gasket installed

I am changing head gasket on my 1995 C280. After doing it and putting back everything, making sure timing was not changed using marks everywhere, I tried to move the crankshaft by hand but engine does not move. Noticed that chain tensioner is exercising a very heavy pressure over the chain. In order to move the crankshaft, I had to remove all spark plugs, an loosen the tensioner.
Can somebody tell me what's wrong here? Thanks and best regards!!!

If you’re really sure with your valve timing, check your new head gasket, there must be a mismatch. There are times that these replacement parts are way off from the original specs of cylinder bore diameter (must be small and stop the c.heads before travelling the top end) and thickness (must be too thin and hit the plugs at tdc).
