Check engine light reset

My 93 E420's check engine light has come on, is there a way I can reset this myself before I pay the dealership to reset it for about $40?

It came on when I forgot to re-connect the sensor on the plastic cover behind the driver's side headlight after removing it to replace a bulb.

Disconnect the battery for about 1 minute and plug it back in. The light should go away when you start up again.

I reset mine by taking off the neg battery cable. Or you can go to AZ and they'll reset it for free with their OBDII scanner. I pull codes there all the time for free.

oops. I see that it is a 1993 so obdII would be out of the question. Sorry.
