C230 Çoolant Lines
I was detailing my GF's 99 C230. There was a brown spot on the floor under the front passenger seat. I hit it with carpet cleaner, and when I scrubbed it up, it actually came up exactly the same color as coolant.
I know my GF doesn't carry around spare Prestone in the back seat. Are there any coolant lines running under the floorpan in that location? If it isn't actually coolant, does anyone know what this could be? The coolant level in the reservoir is fine. The previous owner knows almost nothing about the car, my GF knows even less, our mechanic won't even work on the car, and I'm still trying to process the fact that the oil fill cap doesn't call for the recommended oil weight.

There are no coolant lines running under the seat area.
In fact, MB factory coolant in 99 was blue and the current MB coolant is light yellow. Perhaps the sun roof was left open and rain water gathered under the seat and you are seeing rust through the carpet.
