okay...last monday night my CEL turned on. thursday night my CEL turned off. but then today after about 15 mins after i filled up with gas, it turned back on!! WTF is going on?? i noticed the first time it turned on i had 3/4 tank, and it turned off when it was about 1/2 tank. does ne1 know whats going on with my car?? how much does it usually cost to get a diagnostics scan for my car? i have a 99 c230kompressor. i dont notice any problems with my car. can it be bad gas? a friend told me to try fuel injenction cleaner to pour down my tank...should i try it?

 

Could be bad gas...could be the gas cap itself. If the gas cap is not sealing properly, it will leak vapors, causing the CEL to come on.

Most common issues for CEL are O2 sensors, MAF, or valves malfunctioning.

I wouldn't pour fuel injector stuff into the car...MB recommends against any additives into the fuel system and engine. But, it's your car, so its up to you.

dont use the injector cleaner.... its poison to your benz.

 

I've never heard not to use FI cleaner on a Benz. Do you mean on newer models only?
