W202 Throttle Body Differences

Hi

Can anyone tell me if there are any differences in the diameter of the throttle body between the w202 models specifically the c180, c200 and c230 kompressor? Are any of them interchangeable physically? (ignoring any wiring issues)

Thanks

There are "3" types of T/Bs,

1) one with wire (which comes with early models 93-96),

2) one with side acc. spring & with-out wire (which comes with middle models 96-99)

3) one fully Electronic ECU controls, with-out wire & with-out side acc. spring (which comes with late models 99-00)

Pretty good English for someone in the U.A.E
I thought everyone there drove a Lamborghini, and a Mercedes was to take out the garbage to the end of the driveway :-)

Brilliant thanks for the excellent reply. The car came with the 3rd one (full electronic). I want to swap it with the early one with the cable. So does this mean it will will bolt up to the holes without any problems? As I have a c230 kompressor engine but the ones with the cable seems to be all from the c180 or the c200 so just want to make sure this will fit before purchasing.

Again ignoring any electrical issues.

*Of course the one with wire will not work, cause it has an early different jetronic system, ECU/wiring harness/MAF/injectors/without TCU, more more headache,

simply it's a complete DIFFERENT PLATFORM,,

*Your so lucky that you have a fully Electronic T/B, that means you have (99-00) isn't..?, this fully Electronic T/B is more reliable & more cheap & soo easy to repair, easy to talk with ECU/TCU, and able to program them,,

MB made that to be a "piece of cake" to deal with...

Well the engine is going to run using a megasquirt ecu so all the original wiring, ecu etc is now gone. This is the reason I want to use a wired one as the current throttle is too complicated to set up. I need a simple wired throttle with the TPS in it.

Hence why I only need to know if it fits over the existing bolt holes and if the throttle plate is the same size.

Ah, i see, you mean you will use a standalone ECU to make it work..!,

as i mentioned, all those "3" TBs got 68mm, but honestly NOT so sure about this....
