My ac works sporadically but when it does, I have to put it all the way to the 'LO'. I hooked up my ac gauges and noticed with the car off, My low side was about 110 and zero for high side. But before that, I added a can of r134a freon raw ( no sealers, dyes ) and the compressor now clicks on and off continuously.
When I turned the car on with the ac on, my low side went to about 30 and my high side increased just a little. This is my first time using this gauge so I am new on this.
I have decided to do the ac work my self because I love learning. I'm going to buy a vacuum pump -- I already have the gauge. I've had this problem for years now and have taken to several mechanics and has not been resolved. So, like my father said, if you want it done right, do it yourself.
Well somebody tell me how to detect a bad compressor or how to tell you are low on freon? Thanks in advance.
