722.6 fix newbie

Hi newbie here. I am a new owner of a W202 which was in a sorry state when I purchased it 6 months ago. It had a broken gearbox, both front doors would not close, electric windows not working properly, paint in a terrible state ( car always parked in the sun and been sitting in the same place for the previous 6 months attested by the bat droppings on it) with bits peeling off some minor dents and front bumper ready to fall off and water in the doors! Its redeeming features were that the owner was asking $600 for it and it had only done 154000 km. I read around the forums as to what could be the cause of the gearbox failure then decided it could be just an electrical component. I took the plunge and drove the car home in second gear (limp home mode). After much research on internet I bought a chinese Star C3 then a laptop to match plugged into the car wow what a huge program it took some time before I had learnt how to use the program with some effectiveness(still learning). Eventually I was following the various tests it suggested to isolate the component failure. I replaced the transmission selector(I think in hindsight this may have not been necessary) , the connection plug at the gearbox and then the conductor plate. Still the problem persisted so with some more reading around the forums I found out that I need to erase the fault codes, so back I went into the program and tried erasing to no effect. Back to forums and Utube I eventually discovered that I was using the wrong Icon. Back to the program tried different icons to load then wow faults erased. Got into car started it put into reversed and this time no clunk! it was nice and smooth (my anticipation increased) backed out car then into D and again no clunk as before and off I went noting all five gears present. I was elated. I have since replaced front door locks, and boot lock and had to buy a electric motor for the right rear door power window as it had been removed!, given the car a service and a 2pac paint job at home with my son. Car is now registered and wife is enjoying the pleasures of driving a MB. It sounds all very straight forward but it was not, there were many times I thought that this was going to be a waste of time and money but fortunately it has worked out. This is my first MB and having almost pulled out the interior I am impressed with the build of the MB. At this point I will not be buying anything other that a MB. The ride and quality of the car is great. I believe that this car was neglected and always sitting in the sun which caused the door locks and window problems not to mention the paint. Our Darwin sun is relentless here.
Question. What is the procedure to reset the service interval to zero?

Hey Kirwant,

I have just undergone this same project, only I have done the lower end of things: Conductor plate and Plug and will be needing to reset the TCU error codes. I have the same Chinese C3 star on the way and just was looking for some clarity on the icon confusion. I will be resetting the codes this weekend I hope let me know if you can offer some screen shots that would be amazing and we can get it sticky'd to the Star DIY page. I quest for this same feeling:
