Puzzle: "Normal Fuel Trim" but got DTC 0170 and CEL is ON. Anyone ???

Puzzle: "Normal Fuel Trim" but got DTC 0170 and CEL is ON. Anyone ???
I have 1997 C230. It's been great with this car for 18 years and over 275k miles.

Recently the Check Engine Light (CEL) turned ON and I got the DTC code P0170, which is the error code for fuel trim bank 1. My OBD II readers displays the following STFT and LTFT numbers.

STFT B1 (%) 0.8
LTFT B1 (%) -0.8

Apparently, the number looks normal. And the car runs great.
But then why the CEL is ON and the error code? Any idea?

Bad fuel pressure regulator/O2 sensors/catalytic converter,,

these could cause this CEL code, did you check any of them..?

Dear cm60k,

Thanks you for your suggestion. I checked the fuel pressure regulator and purge valve but it seems they are working fine.

Regarding the O2 sensor, can it go wrong without triggering a DTC code?
