OEM xenons installed on w202

Niccccccce.

After my friend helped me get the headlight out, installation was pretty much a breeze. The Headlight wiper motors attached to the bottom of the unit, and the ballasts, I didn't mount to the stock locations, I just put them where the old aftermarket ballasts once were.

The only problem i ran into was that my car didn't have the harness for the wipers...so basically they are "for deckorashun" They don't work, and it's gonna cost me quite a bit more to aquire parts to make it work. So no thanks.

also The plug on my halogen unit had only 4 plugs while the one on the Xenon unit has 5. from what I've learned from reading past xenon threads was that the extra one was for the city light. I don't know what that is, but I saw a tiny extra bulb next to the xenon, so that's probably it. Basically, we just opened the harness and plugged each of the wires in individually, and the 5 plug remains untouched. We modified the harness alittle bit so that it would fit. The xenons turned on perfectly. Niccccce!!! damn they look good. (if what i did was unsafe or incorrect...please inform me, i don't want these to malfunction in the future.)

heh, I swapped in my piaas for the highbeams bulbs, but it looks them chinky blue lights that you see on ricerockets. I'm going to take those things out and replace them with regular bulbs

my question is...what does the city light do and how does it looked when it's lit?

I don't think these are auto leveling either cuz I didn't see a motor built into the light, there's only a vacuum motor. Hmmm...or am i wrong? I thought all xenons are required to have autoleveling features.

City Lights

If they are like my W123 European Headlights then they are a 4 or 8 watt peanut bulb. They make your headlights look "illuminated" without using a lot of wattage, if your main beams are turned off. I wired mine into the front corner lamps, so that whenever my parking lights are on, the city lights will be on. I like the way they look with my parking lamps, or if I am just using my fog lamps.

If you wire them into a wire or fuse that is energized when your car is turned on, then you have pseud-day time running lights. There are different wattages in the penut bulbs, so I believe you can go from a 4 to a 8 watt bulb. Not sure if they go higher.

Where did you buy them?

I was thinking about going with the H4 BiXenon kits that move the shield back and forth over the bulb to give you high and low beam.

Dilligaf, I bought the xenons a guy who bought them Bekkers.com Retail, these lights cost 1200$

Absc280, I bought the chrome grill from a small shop in Huntington Beach. Yeah I like it, it fits perfectly. I wouldn't recommend buying them from EBAY, your best bet is to either get one from your dealer or one from www.bekkers.com

The reason your OEM xenon headlights have the city lights is because they are the Euro Xenon headlights. Bekkers.com only sells the European Xenon headlights. Here's a pic. of the city lights on:

ugh, the city light is ugly. good think it's not functional.

the lights should be rated between 4100k-4300K
