MB w202 c180 SRS light on
Hi,I am a new member and I need help on how to delete SRS light (mercedes w202 c180 1998 38 pin plug).
Had disconnected the airbag and for some reason,I turned the ignition ''on''.After I reconnected the airbag, the SRS light remains ''on''.
With the ignition ''on'',srs light comes ''on''.Within 2sec, the light goes off and then back ''on'' again, (permanently),even if I start the engine.
I have made a device according to the schematic given, with a 12 volt LED.
Note. If you buy a 12 volt LED you don't need the resistor.
Procedure given:
Ignition ''on''.
Connectios: black wire to pin 1 (ground), red wire to pin 3 (+12v), yellow wire to pin 30 (SRS control module).
Hold button down for 4 sec, (light is on) and then release, (light is
off). The light should flash now, in order to read the fault, but it remains off.
In turn, I connected black wire, directly to the chassis.Same result.
Tried to jump pin 30, directly to ground pin1 for 10 sec.In turn pin 30 directly to chassis for 10sec, with no response. The SRS light, remains on.
Any other DIY suggestios?
Hope somebody will help me.
Thanks in advance.

I know this is old thread.. but I did the same thing!!!
I was upgrading to wooden steering wheel (instead of the plastic-rubber one) and did need to unlock the steer when I was releasing the stuck middle bolt.. I did connect the negative in battery and put the key in to unlock.. didn't know the airbags would have to be connected when switched on.. so.. got SRS light locked on.. did try to connect between pin 1 and 30 in 38 pin plug in safety box under the hood with key in pos 2 (running pos) with no luck.

Did you BOTH try disconnecting the Negative cable to the battery for 30 minutes? and then reconnect to see if the srs stays off.
As I have not experienced this personally, I do recall reading here on the forum, that there some scanners that will work to reset the SRS and some that do not.
Use the search feature on the forum here with "w202 srs light on", and do some personal research is your best bet to learn and fix your issue.
