error code resets & the battery
If my car goes into a "limp mode" because of an error code, can I reset the system by taking the battery offline?
If this resets the error code, would I then get out of "limp mode"?
Thanks in advance.

what do you think?...
What is your opinion on this...if the car seems to run fine normally and then all of a sudden something happens that puts it into limp mode, is taking the battery off-line to reset the code and have the car drive normally a valid option?
I am considering doing this because the car seems to be running fine for a couple of thousand miles and then all of a sudden...limp.
Taking the battery off-line seems like a cheap alternative to having to buy an expensive diagnostic/code reader/reset tool.

Sometimes computers can act weird and throw a code once in a rare while....but disconnecting the battery isn't bad. Its just a hassel to reset the clocks and input your security code for the radio. But most of the time it does clear the computer and then gives you a chance to see if there really is an error and if there is, it will come back in a day or two.

If I were to do this...
If I were to disconnect the battery, do I have to reset the car's computer at all or will it work fine but I'll just have to reset the clock and radio?

My money is going on the MAS meter. I've had 3 in the last 2 years. Only once has the check engine light come on.
Oh, and when I put money on the MAS meter, it is always the MAS meter.
