Fuel Guage
Due to the common fluctuating fuel gauge issues, I have replaced both of the senders in my 96 C280 using OEM VDO parts. The gauge is still reading incorrectly. After fill up it shows a half tank. I've searched and searched and haven't come across anyone that actually had a bad gauge itself.

With the tank full. Unplug and measure the resistance across each sender unit they should both read the same if the tank is in fact full. I can't remember if the value goes up or down when the tank us full but it going to be either around 96 ohm or 1 ohm. But they should read the same value. Report back after that test

Thanks for the input. I replaced the regeneration valve and it is now working normally for the first time in months. If it happens again I will follow your recommendation. Just discovered last night that my 97 E320 M104 has a bad head gasket.
