Adjusting Sunroof ?

I posted about a week ago about my sunroof sticking up higher than the roof and causing a lot of noise.

It is the drivers side front that is a little higher and back a tiny bit. It causes wind noise and cold air can be felt near the top of the windscreen while driving.
I am not going to have a chance to drop it off to get it adjusted for a while. Is there a way I could do this at home one evening?

thanks for any info you can provide.

No one knows? LOL

I don't think any of the shops do either, they are all telling me I need to leave it a day for them to "look at it" I don't have time for that. Oh well, I guess I'll break out the duct tape. J/K

Remove the black accordian things.
There will be torx screws that can be lossend and you can adjust the sunroof level.

Thanks, I don't recall seeing anything that looks "accordian" Are you meaning the headliner part that slides with the sunroof? I don't know how to remove that.

Mercedes C250D
Hi Dilligaf

What model? What kind of sunroof, Glass or metal ?

I had a similar problem, W202 C250 diesel, metal sunroof.
To get access, The headliner that moves with the sunroof is fixed by press stud type fasteners at the forward edge ( nearest the windscreen). you can unpop them with a hooked tool & slide the panel backwards. You can now see the 10mm bolts that hold the metal roof panel. Undo those & remove the roof upwards. Now you can see the tilt/slide mechanism. Mine was quite badly damaged so I just set the slides to equal height & buttoned it all up again, then pulled the fuse. We dont get a lot of sun in Scotland!
Its quite a complicated set of slides etc. in there so good luck.

Regards Peter

Thanks

It is a 94 C280 with the metal sunroof. I am going to try and adjust it tomorrow. It is supposed to go in on Sat. to get the oil changed and have the sunroof fixed. Hopefully I can save myself some money and adjust it myself.

Thanks again, i'll report back with the results.
