Question cd changer wiring

Help! I am new to Mercedes ownership. I just purchased my '97 c280 Sport two weeks ago and it has no CD changer in it. I have been able to locate a new changer from many sources, but I am not sure if my car is wired for it. It has the factory Bose tape/wb/stereo, with cd controls, but I have looked in the well in the trunk where I assume this part would be placed. There is no wiring sticking through. Where is the wiring coming from on these units? If it is wired, is it tucked under the plastic shelf in the trunk? Behind the side wall molding? If the changer was not an installed factory option, would it be wired? I assume that it would, but Ihave not found the wiring. Thank you for any and all help you can give. I appreciate it.

its behind the passenger side panel in the trunk. access it by removing that entire panel (its one piece) by removing all the clips that are attached around the perimeter of the panel. then take off the panel by making sure its not hooked onto or stuck behind anything cuz when it is in its original position, certain things in the trunk get in the way of the panel. the cd changer cable should have 9 pin sockets enclosed in a white casing and is connected to a black wire. should be taped or zip-tied to other cables so check other wires if you dont see it right away.

I have seen the two that work for us besides the factory. The USAspec one, and the Alpine you listed. I am a huge fan of Alpine, but I thought I would go with a factory unit. I have one question though, will the 94-95 CD changer work with the '97 headunit, or do I have to look for one that is 96 to 98? Or, would you all recommend the Alpine? Thank you in advance.
