C180 1998: Carsoft issue: ME or HFM or what?
Hello all
I am a little confused.
I have a 1998 European model (38 pin Diagnostic connector) and it has transponder key but still uses a Cable to the throttle body and flap. (Not fly by wire).
I tried to use Carsoft to read some codes but I just cannot connect to any of the ECU types listed. Like ME, HFM etc.
All I get is "module not built in or cdefective."
I do get correct codes for all the other stuff like EGS, Aircon, Cluster PMS etc etc.
So my question is: what type of management does this car have and should I be able to connect to it?

Glad it's not just me! Cannot get any data from pin 4 of the 38 pin connector, I thought this was for engine management. Like you, using carsoft, and can read and erase fault codes on the other modules.

I wonder if this is a problem with the software or the multiplexer.
