LED replacement for H4 bulb
LED's on the market now appear to be compatible, but I find no reference to using them in any 202 forum.
Put another way, does anyone know of any reason these LED's made to replace an H4 will not work in our cars ?
The two posted photos show the color difference. The photo with the open door shows the white - white of the LED (on right) versus the yellowish of the halogen H4. In the second photo, you get a view after installing both LED's. I installed the LED's as shown in my initial post since they fit nicely and allow the rear cover plate of the headlight assemblies to fit without problem. One interesting point, after a half hour run, I shut off the car, and felt the glass headlight lenses. The halogen side was damned hot. The LED side was barely warm. These LED's incorporate a small cooling fan (kinda like the ones in our laptops) to keep things cool. Cool idea - ha ha !
The pattern of the LED's seems very close to that of the halogens. I drove at night, and did not get any "feedback" that I was blinding oncoming drivers. Aimed at a wall, the two patterns were similar. so now to try them in daily driving...
