Heater Blower/Heat Seems Warm to Lukewarm

Hello everyone,

Last week I had three problems with my car. First whenever I entered onto the highway, the back wheel(s) started humming loudly and it was irritating. I learned this was a "wheel bearing problem". Second, my check engine light came on so I knew I had to take it to my mechanic. And 3rd, the fan on the Climate control unit stopped working. I was riding in a cold cold car.

Yesterday I went to pick my car up. Here is the bill:
I put the American Dollar equivalent in parethesis since I am in Canada spending Canadian dollars.

LABOUR CHARGES 77 Per Hour or 57.87US
Minor Service 23.10 (17.36)
Road test for hum in car . . .
replace right rear wheel bearing 138.60 (104.15)
test for no blower motor. . .
replaced motor seized 77.00 (57.87)

PARTS
Filter 10.47 (7.87)
Quaker State 15-40 19.50 (14.65)
Environment oil 2.75 (2.07)
wheel bearing 60.90 (45.76)
Motor (that's all that was written) 417.30 (313.57)
Oxygen Sensor (from check engine) 279.50 (210.03)

Subtotal 1029.12 (773.41)
Taxes 154.37 (116.01)

Total $1183.49 (889.41)

I put the pricing here in hopes that someone will let me know that is is okay.

However, here is my question. My heater does not seem to be warm like I imagine it used to be. I felt this way even before I brought the car in to the shop. Now lately it has been colder in Toronto but would that have an effect on the heater? Is there some part I may require changing that will cause the heater to blow hotter rather than warm to lukewarm?

Please help anybody. I will keep checking back.

Thank you.

The heater thing. Are your operating temps normal or are they fluctuating wildly? I had a heater problem and it was fluctuating wildly, turned out it was the thermostat. Quick and cheap replacement. The blower motor is in charge of moving air I believe, it doesn't care about the temp of the air. If anything, it's either the heater core or thermostat. I would change the thermostat first as it's a cheap thing to do and if you never done it, it's prolly about time.

Wow O2 is that expensive? Is that for 1 O2 sensor or 2 because there's two O2 sensors in the exhuast system, a pre cat and a post cat.

Oops..read that the fan wasn;t blowing..yeah blower motor i would guess.

The heatthing..check the thermostat.

Your labor rate is certainly acceptable. Dealership in Cleveland is $90.00 per hour.
