So how do you start FAST ?

Hey.

So I've been experimenting with how to get a good start.

First way: I let go of break and push the gas all the way quickly. This results in the car lagging and barely moving for a sec or 2, then the RPM jumps to 4k and it takes off. A very jerky take off.

Second way: After letting off the break push the gas steadily and fairyly quickly (so, after like 2 or 3 seconds it's all the way). This results in the car being slow at first but when the RPMs get high it takes off again. This way it doesn't jerk though.

Now I've been wanting to try just holding the brake with the left foot, getting the RPMs up a bit (3000? I don't really know a good RPM), and then just letting go of the brake and pushing gas the rest of the way.

Has anyone tried this? What do you guys do ?

By the way, would the brake thing be bad for the car? I would understand that it would put a little wear on the brakes, but is there anything serious that can happen ?

Thanks.

I find that mashing the pedal down doesn't do it at all. I just push down slowly at first to get it moving, then push down faster. Works the best for me

As for power braking, not that good for your tranny or your brakes...but once in a while is ok. It usually does result in a better launch, but if you don't even have the power to break the rear tires loose, then it's really no point.

Like mine, 150hp, I can't even squeel the tires :P So power braking does nothing for me.

Ahh. Not good for the tranny is bad.

Brakes would just be replaced a little sooner than normal from the extra wear, but I don't think I should be doing this 'cause if I tell my mom I ****ed up her tranny while being an idiot then she'll never let me drive again......lol...

yeah, i find that the best method. Just give it a lil at the beginning, once it picks up, push down faster to let it go thru all the gears fully
