engaging Drive

hey all,

anyone get a "jerk" or "kickback" when engaging Drive? I'm talking from a standstill and you are ready to drive, put it into Drive and then the car jerks? Or sometimes when I reverse the car and then put it into drive, that gets me a jerk too...any ideas?

thanks

damn...that's not good. I'm almost due for a oil change, so i'll ask them to take a look. It does it once in a while, not all the time. Mostly when the A/C is on...I don't know if that has anything to do with it (maybe more strain on the drivetrain?)

happens to me a lot.. i cant tell if its the tranny or if its the rapid torque change in the driveshaft that causes the jerky motion

that could be true because I change the gears from reverse to drive pretty quickly...like rolling back in reverse then just as i'm about to stop, i drop it into drive, so that could be it. I know that if I wait a second after stopping and gently put it into drive, it won't do that...

just came back from doing errand and such and no jerks today, but I didn't have the A/C on.

yes, makes a difference... and its not horrible (if very slow) but definitely not good for the tranny.
