map sensor data output?
I'm looking at getting a digital boost gauge for my 99 kompressor. The kit comes with it's own 3 pin map sensor, but I want to see if I can just tap into the stock 3 pin sensor instead of running 2 map sensors(seems redundant). The company that makes the gauge asked me for the data output(Voltage against pressure) of my stock map sensor to see if it can indeed be wired in to avoid running 2 map sensors. With that said, does anyone know the data output of the stock map sensor? Thanks in advance.

Thanks, but I'm not sure that's the info they are looking for. I think they want to know the voltage against pressure as the map voltage varries with different pressures, it doesn't stay constant 5v.

The only reason they want this info is because I want to tap into the stock map sensor wires, otherwise, they don't need it but I'd have to use their map sensor. I just want to avoid having 2 map sensors and extra wires in my engine bay if I can.

I think you have only one MAP sensor, isn't..!?,
also, are you sure your MAP sensor comes with two pins..?, it should be three pins:-
*Power/5V
*Ground
*ECU Signal
MAP sensor calculate the pressure vacuum in manifold and send it to the ECU for proper fuel injected,
if they want to use their own MAP sensor, they will need to tune the ECU for pressure bar with voltage range,,

My car comes stock with 1 map sensor, a 3 pin sensor, NOT a 2 pin.
I know what a map sensor is, and it's function.
If I want to use the map sensor supplied with the digital boost gauge kit, they don't have to tune my stock ECU for pressure bar wit voltage, the kit comes with it's own module to do so.

What I want to do is use this kit, but instead of wiring in their map sensor, I wanted to just tap into the wires of the stock mercedes map sensor for the readings. They need to know the voltage against pressure of the stock map so they can program their supplied controller box to work with it.
