Cabin Air Filter Panel Padding Soaked
2000 C280 / W202
recently purchased this car, with very low mileage for my wife, doing some minor maintenance, including filters
btw, not much air coming thru center vent, seems to be a common, problem, changing the cabin air filter was suggested as a potential
fix. Removed the panel with three screws and noticed that the padding was soaked, and at this point disintegrating. The old filter was filthy, and
may have been the original. Reinstalled new filter, put heat and fan on high, somewhat better air flow.
Where do you think think the water came from ??

there’s a water outlet inside your hood passenger side. See red arrow if picture attached. You have to remove the black plastic cover at the bottom of the windshield passenger side (see green circle) to be able to run a metal hanger or the like to push out and clean the leaves and junk that will be in there. Than run water to get it nice and clean. Good thing the water did not make it to your carpet. That will mess up sensors that are under the seat. Hope this helps.

tks, as a precaution I removed that whole front area, under the windshield and blew out all the leaves, debris, clean now. It has rained a few times, no water entering cabin now....looks like a semi another annual maintenance job
