sc and turbo
I know this is a stupid question but i have no clue, can you have both, I mean a sc and turbo, and if not, why not, i know the sc brings more air in or whatever but i don't really understand how turbos work or if you can ahve both, and which one is better? and if i sound like an idiot, well when it comes to understand sc and turbo how they work and under what conditions, I am an idiot

technically
Technically you could have both... I'm not going to go into how each differ, but in short, a turbo kicks in at higher rpms (hence the term "turbo lag") and runs off exhaust gases. A supercharger runs off a belt, and therefore has no lag, and kicks in at lower rpms. It woudl be possible to fit a car with both- a SC for low rpm power, and a turbo for high end, but it would be pretty unpractical. IMO turbos are better, because while there is a lag, they generally produce much more hp than a SC will give you. hope that answers a few questions- sholly

i dont know exactly but im trying to reason this one through. assuming you have both types of forced induction together, the total boost would be the sum of the boosts of the two respective bolt-ons. seeing that a production engine can only sustain a relatively low level of boost, you would only be getting a small fraction of boost from each individual bolt-on, thus rendering them impractical in another way.

would you see a greater result rom having both kinds rather than just one assuming you had an engine that would not be destroyed due all this induction
