I think this C280 is worst than my Saab...

Had to disconnect the battery today and after reconnecting it, the famous
BAS/ESP lights are on. Keep in mind, it was fine before I had to disconnect the battery. I wonder if it's voltage related.... Going to measure across the battery at idle then look into a possible sensor issue. The MAF sensor was replaced last week. What's next.... I only have 37k on it.

At 40,000 miles the wheels fall off and at 45,000 miles the engine blows up. I bet you couldn't predict that on a Saab. At least with Mercedes you know what's going to happen.

Well, basically you are not supposed to disconnect the battery if it is not necessary, and only a few operations require it (as listed in the workstop information).

I cringed when I read that you disconnected the battery to hook up the CD changer.

Saab over a Benz??? I thought everyone here knew-"die Deutschen hat Autos besser machen!" I hope you were being facetious turbo; NO one builds them like the Germans.

::When you buy a Saab, invest in a good wheelbarrow, because after about 40k, youll need it to collect the parts that fall off::

It was the only way for the head unit to connect to the changer. I messed
around with this for a few days. Once I entered the radio code, the changer
worked just fine. All I needed to do was reset the head unit and I suppose I
could have popped out the radio fuse. Oh well.

Sorry if it's a bit late to reply to this but I just saw it - the BAS/ESP light comes on every time the battery is disconnected, to reset it and extinguish the light, with the car running simply turn the steering wheel all the way to the left, then all the way to the right, and then back to centre. The light should go out. If it doesn't, try again, and if it still doesn't, have it checked.

We're still trying to decide whether or not that's a good thing.

yeah the BAS is normal, just drive and it will be fine next time you start the car.

Also you auto down windows needs to be reprogrammed. You only have to hold each button in the "up" position for 2 seconds (don't press until the click for auto-up)

It's just normal
