Anyone ever had a small task that took a turn for the worse?

Anyone ever had a small task that took a turn for the worse?
Ok, my low beam went out. I buy two just to replace them both at the
same time. First one replaced in 3 minutes while the wire broke on the
second and the bulb end with metal and ceramic core fell apart. What is
the likelihood I can find that replacement wire and fix it? It looks like the
low beam has three wires coming from the plug end.
