Knock when turning wheel left to right...
I am curious as to whenever I am traveling at low speed, such as backing out of a parking space, etc... and I turn the wheel left and right quickly there is a knock that is felt in the wheel. I know the previous owner replaced the steering dampner, can this have anythign to do with it?
While driving it acts normally, no bump/knock felt. Only at very low speed. Any ideas guys?
Also when I put the car in gear from a stop, say from reverse or neutral, release the brakes while the vehicle is not moving and engage Drive, there is a knock/bump sound that comes from the rear of the car. If I engage Drive with my foot on the brake it isn't apparent....

thats exacly what happened with my ride.. its not the dampner.
I thought at first it was the steering ball joints, but it was the axle bearings which are adjustable in these models. u just hav to find from which wheel the knocking sound comes from and take it to the stealer or another place to get it readjusted.
it worked with mine.
