Control arm bent on my c230
I am sooooo pissed...Yesterday, I was making a left turn and some idiot tried to turn infront of me from the no.2 lane. I swerved to avoid hitting him and hit the center island which caused my left front rim to crack and also pop the tire. After putting the spare on, I drove and didn't notice any pull other than the steering wheel being off centered a little.
Well, today I got another rim from my buddy who has the exact same vehicle as me. I then go to the tire shop for an alignment and they tell me that my control arm is bent and alignment is off 2 degrees!! They said it would cost about 2k to fix it! My next step is to file a claim with my insurance and let the dealer fix it. I am wondering what the cost will be at the dealer?

Here you go: http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com...tion=000359379
Lower control arm about $ 280.00.
Install & alignment probably about $ 150.00.
Getting screwed by your garage........priceless.

Ya...sounds crazy...I went to the mb dealer and got an estimate. Total price for replacement of control arm, bushings, bearings, and alignment...$1870.00
Not including the stock original rim.
Oh yeah..I forgot to mention, that esp traction control warning light started to come on (Just once) when I was driving onto a freeway onramp...(360 degree ramp) and I know that I wasn't loosing any tire traction.....so maybe the control arm also caused this computer to malfunction?
Well my insurance said if I file..my rates are going to go up another $150.00 a month..Fricken Allstate. I think it would have been better to just ram into that other car.
