W202 steering wheel removal instructions
On my -96 C180 (with Airbags) it goes like this:
-Turn the wheels straight.
-Dissconnect battery negative terminal, wait 15 minutes.
-Remove Airbag:
-Remove the two (Torx T27, at least in Europe) bolts that holds the airbag on the back of the steeringwheel.
-Pull out Airbag and dissconnect its leads.
-Dissconnect the other leads from the steeringwheel
-Unscrew the nut that holds the steeringwheel.
-Pull the steeringwheel out.
-Be careful with the device under the steeringwheel that holds the wires for Airbag etc. when steeringwheel is removed. Never open it up (if no need), i think it is spring-loaded.
Assembling:
Reverse the order of dissassembling, but note the following:
-Check that turningindicator switch is in center possition.
-Tighten the nut that holds the steeringwheel to 80 Nm.
-When putting back the airbag, tighten the LEFT bolt before the right. The correct torque is 6 Nm.
-Do not sit at the drivers seat when repowering the system again. Chech that Airbag-light goes out as normally (otherwise recheck wiring, with battery disconnected).
Good luck, instructions should work for other W202:s as well.

Thanks for the instructions cwickstr, I'm gonna try to install a new cruise control lever (mine broke). Dealer said $82 for the part and $147 for installation, explained it to me and made it sound complicated... anyway...I wanna save $147. Thanks again!
