Question Does your light switch light up?
Sounds a little stupid but mine doesn't light up. I only get the center to light up when the fogs are on. I would think it should illuminate.

My switch doesnt light up either. In fact I dont think my old 190 lit up as well. Never noticed that until you pointed it out. When the rear foglamp is on, then the center of it lights up.

Funny you mention that, I was thinking exactly the same thing the other day when my wife pointed it out.
Hmmm, nice to know that there's nothing wrong with my switches.

One would think when the lights are on, an outline on the control is in view. I
wonder what the W203s have? If they're interchangeable?

According to a friend with a W203 they do light up. Although I have no clue if they are interchangable. I do not think anyone even thinks about whether the switch lights up or not unless someone asks about it!

mine donT, ligh tup neither, I noticed it shortly after buying the car, I tought it was broke.. then I saw that there was only prints on the plastic.. no lightning there

Mine as well..on the W210 is does light up but with the W202 it was painted on..cost cutting measures back then?

i am a mercedes benz tech and the center light only lights up to inform u that ur rear foglamp is on, the middle , it is a small led... part number 765-9877-99

it gets pretty hot to be a LED!!! i thought LEDs were meant not to generate any heat

Older Switches have an actual bulb in it that was the size of a large grain of rice (W123, W201 & w202) as I have replaced them on my MBs.

I do not know if newer models may have an "LED" that lights up.
