I am trying to completely bypass the EGR valve and keep the computer happy from throwing a code. All I have done at this point is take off the vacuum line and put a bolt in it hoping it would trick the module into thinking the valve is closed.

CEL came back on with P0400 code thrown.

I know some folks just block the intake side on other vehicles. Is that the missing step here? Thanks in advance.
