DID YOU GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS ISSUE I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM ON MY 1997 C250 WAS TOLD IT WAS THE ECU I HAVE HAD THE IMMOBILIESER FLASHED STILL NO FIX ?
Still not got to the bottom of it unfortunately. Tbh it's taken a bit of a back seat while we try and sort no start no crank issues on another w202 c250td.
Did you manage to fix yours?
I can't say I have any experience wit this issue, but last year while lurking around the internet I ran across people with the same issue.
One solution was quite involved,, and it turned out to be the Ignition switch.
It's one of those dealership things, b/c it has to do with coding the keys and syncing the switch to the IP, ECU and all that complicated garbage.
Another fix was just a bad key.
The guy had a few other keys and they worked.
He discovered that the tip has a small coil of very fine wire wound around a spindle, and the wire routes up into the bigger part of the key.
From repeated twisting of the key in the ignition switch, that fine wire breaks where it begins to transition up into the key body.
He reconnected that delicate connection and it worked again.
I can't say that'll work for you, but it's worth a try doing the simple thing first.
