M111.974 "PCV" System Help
Greetings all. A few years ago, I purchased a 1997 C230 W202 (non-kompressor) as my first car, and it's been a great learning tool for how cars work.
My vehicle has the M111.974 engine. I was changing my oil the other day, and I noticed the breather hose (I think that's what it's called) from the top of the valve cover was a bit moist with oil. I cleaned it and checked again in a few days, and I saw not only was this hose moist again, but also that the air intake hose from the airbox meets the throttle body was also oily. I figured that I should address this ASAP.
I assume the issue has to be crankcase ventilation-related, but I'm unsure since I'm a layman, and I wasn't getting much out of my virtual machine factory repair manual. Any guidance with a sprinkle of education would be helpful. Thank you!
